As part of the current delegation trip by the Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture Cem Özdemir, the Sino-German Cooperation Project for Sustainable Animal Breeding and Husbandry invited the Minister and other delegation participants, consisting of representatives from the Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft and the German Embassy in Beijing, to an exchange on current topics.
The Federal Minister and the animal breeding project, represented by team leader Henrik Delfs and Mr Haoye Yang, exchanged views on current issues in Chinese animal breeding and husbandry. Mr Delfs first provided a brief introduction to the long history of the animal breeding project and presented the current focal points of the project work and their significance.
The delegation and the animal breeding project exchanged views on topics such as biosecurity, especially the animal disease situation in China, sustainable animal breeding, resource-efficient feed use and feed utilisation, and the strengthening of nutrient cycles.
